UPCOMING: Holy Day Observance at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts
I'm pleased to be speaking this coming Saturday, November 14 at the commemoration of the Birth of Baha'u'llah on the campus of Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. The theme is "Race, Religion, and Visions of America's Future," and my talk will draw on insights from my new book.
This occasion is particularly significant in that this year is the first time that Baha'is the world over will celebrate the Twin Holy Birthdays, those of the Bab and Baha'u'llah, respectively, according to the codification of the faith's calendar announced recenlty by the Universal House of Justice. This year they will fall on November 13 and 14. (This video is a great introduction to the Badi' Calendar and its worldwide application.)
I hope my talk will contribute appropriately to an occasion to reflect on the fruits of Baha'u'llah's life and mission and the relevance of his work to our time and place. The public is warmly invited. Please spread the word!
