150th Anniversary of the Burning of Columbia: My Second Piece for the Good Men Project

I'm grateful that the Good Men Project picked up my recent essay, first published on this blog, about the burning of Columbia at the end of the Civil War and the enduring power of neo-confederate history. The headlines just keep coming, and issues of race, class, and justice seem to be daily pressing themselves on the consciousness of the nation to a degree that I don't recall in my lifetime. The more truly informed we are about our past, the better for everyone.

Please check out the piece if you haven't already seen it, and be so kind as to share in your circles as you see fit. I'd be happy to receive comments directly on the Good Men Project website, too.
